As well as the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens
there are many private gardens that open to the public under the National Garden Scheme (NGS).
You would normally use the Yellow Book. However the same information is available on
line at the NGS website at www.ngs.org.uk
and you can search the gardens to find what you want.
Go to "VISIT NGS Gardens" in the menu and use the Garden Finder.
Just complete the form with our post code (SA32 7BB), the dates you will be at Allt y Golau Farmhouse
and the distance you are prepared to travel. It will then generate a list of private gardens that are
open under the NGS whilst you are at our bed and breakfast.
A new resource for lost gardens is the Parks and Gardens website at
www.parksandgardens.ac.uk
which gives an introduction to every Cadw listed garden in Wales. Cadw lists 367 gardens in
Wales that are deemed of national importance, many of these are in the Tywi
Valley - the garden of Wales.
